The FTW 3 is a great card but it is not a card that out preformed the Black when it comes to gaming and FPS they are the same the temps will stay lower on a out of the box fan curve, but set you black to 60% fan speed which will not shorten the lifespan by the way and you than have a card preforming at the same fps and same temps and not to much more noise there is a bit more noise of course but the price gap makes it a no brainer. At these resolutions and refresh rates the bottleneck is gone so it is not an issue for me. I could hear the card with headphones on while gaming, as the fans had to run quite fast to keep the temps at 75C - stock clocks (I think this was just around 60% fan speed). You clearly got a higher binned card, but now I know that the Black Edition is capable of that kind of performance. That is the thermal limit set by Nvidia to not go over 84c, so I'm basically hitting the thermal limit in all games, which slightly lowers the frequency by like 100mhz max from what I can tell.
